Beautifuly done!

Strengths: Took me 2 hours to remove my old 680i board & installing this along with Vista64. They have finally done it the right way for a board since the last few ones were totally miserable. Excellent layout.

Weakness: Overpriced for now.

All dim slots filled with no problems what so ever: F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ for 8 gigs @ 1066 @ 2.1V. Q6600 @ 3.6, 8800GTS W/640MB RAM @ 600/1404/1003

i'm yet to find anything broken

Strengths: northbridge never goes north of 35C

Weakness: could not find any except that the board does not show memory specs like intel boards reportedly do.

the board works well in xp with the kingston PC-5300 unbuffered ecc
dimms, e2160 and 2 AAJS 160MB wd rin raid1.
the bios is not complicated to navigate.
took one switch to flip ecc on and another to turn raid utility
on.

Defective Boards

Strengths: Don't know. Never got one working long enough

Weakness: Does not run very long!

The first board I received lasted about 5 minutes (sort 0f). Got it all assembled and in the case, powered it up, and it would not drive my monitor. Took the board and P.S.out of the case and set it up on a bench. It quickly went from no video out to a short on the motherboard which caused the P.S. to current limit and cycle on and off. I called ASUS to verify that the motherboard was defective,...

Solid Performer

Strengths: Easy to setup and use.

Weakness: None

Works well and is stable. Shipped with an outdated bios but no big deal flashing it. No problems up to this point. Have not used any overclocking capabilities so can't testify as to how well they work. For my everyday use this board does the job.

ASUS P5E Motherboard

Strengths: Large heatsink.

Weakness: SATA connection is hard to get to.

The ASUS P5E is a nice motherboard. It'll boot even if there is a compatibility issue. If you have a quad core processor you might have to upgrade the BIOS like I had to. One of my complaints about this motherboard is the placement of the SATA connections they're all at the side of the motherboard and are hard to access!
