Strengths: The machine is large, easy to use, and quiet.
Review:  We finally gave up on our 4 year-old LG Tromm front loader. It was one stinky problem after another. We wanted a top-loader (by the way, washers shouldn't need something to make them smell better!). Maytag by far had the best reviews, one after another. Strengths: Uses very little water and detergent. Very quiet even while spinning at high speed. Has child lockout.
Weaknesses: Wash time is increased for normal and heavy duty cycles. Once in place, you can't easily move it.
Review: Getting used to the lack of water used in the wash cycle took a long time. I was skeptical of the wash thoroughness of every load for a while. So far, the machine has performed well and the clothes are clean. I have not had to wash any REALLY dirty/muddy clothes but I have no doubt that in the correct cycle it would perform.
