Review: I would have to agree with other postings that it should be included with the lens, especially considering the price of the lens. It seems to be quite flexable plastic so hopefully it won't break. I've mainly used it outside in sun light.

Review:  It was hard enough justify $1600 on a 70-200 2.8 VR lens, spending $5500 for a 200-400 F4 VR was out of the question. Still there are times when 200 isn't quite enough reach to get the picture you want. The $420 for a TC-17E was a compromise that I could live with. Strengths: The Canon name and the quality of the glass

Review: The Canon EF 2xII autofocus extender is a great lense accessory to have in your camera bag. Per a conversation with Canon, I learned that you can use the 1X extender (1.4) or the 2X extender (EF 2x II) with any f/2.8 speed lense and NOT lose the auto focus features of the camera. If you use either of these extenders with a f/4 speed lense or slower, you will have to manually focus.
